Jancett Day Nursery consists of four rooms:
Our 2 – 3 year old rooms (red and yellow) are where children progress from our baby rooms and are introduced to table top play. The children enjoy small world play, construction play, problem solving, water play, messy play, sand play and imaginative play. The younger children are introduced to or continue with their potty training.
The Young Rainbow room is the step before the Older Rainbow. The children become a little more independent and are introduced more to phonics and computers along with small world activities, construction play, problem solving, water play, messy play, sand play and imaginative play.
The Older Rainbow room is a very large room with its own outdoor classroom attached where the children can free flow between the indoors and the outdoors. Not only do they have a computer but they also have an interactive white board. Children are further introduced to phonics and are beginning to develop their writing skills along with participating in small world activities, construction play, problem solving, water play, messy play, sand play and imaginative play. Children are prepared for ‘big school’. This classroom has it’s own bathroom attached and children can independently use the facilities.
All the children have access with supervision to a large garden which has a mud kitchen, an imaginative area, quiet reading dens, and physical play areas.
The nursery has two pet rabbits called Flip and Flop and a turtle called Sherman.
We have introduced a recycling area for children and parents to use.

It helps the children learn about understanding instructions and putting two / three part sequences together.

Children can wear what they like although some like to bring in tutus.
