Pollyanna Day Nursery and Baby Unit offers the opportunity for children to learn, grow and develop whilst learning through play and adult led activities. We encourage children to achieve their full potential.
Pollyanna is a colourful, happy, safe and stimulating environment where the children’s individual needs are met. We encourage children to learn through play and encourage all to take part in adult led activities to achieve their learning targets. We work closely with parents in order to support the children’s development.
Each room offers a structured routine with a variety of resources and activities throughout the day which includes water play, messy play, sand play, creative activities, PE sessions, garden play, bug hunts. The children have extra curriculum activities each week with our music coach and football and multi skills with our sports coach.
Children are encouraged to take part in ‘child’s choice’ activities such as the daily whiteboard, child’s choice bubbles where children’s ideas of play are recorded and and carried out at ‘of the month’ themes.
We aim to give the children and parents a ‘feel at home’ environment, where parents feel confident to leave their son or daughter in a safe and caring setting. Parents are invited to meet with their childs key worker 4 times a year for a developmental progress review. Additionally parents are welcome to view their childs ‘all about me’ file at anytime.
We have two little special additions to our Polly family … our guinea pigs, Dolly and Polly. The children take part in caring for our pets by helping the staff to top up the food bowls and water beakers as well as assisting staff with cleaning out their cage.
Staff at Pollyanna enjoy their role and help provide a caring and nurturing setting for the children.

Miss Katie works on balance with the children and helps them learn how to coordinate their bodies to make different movements.
It helps the children learn about understanding instructions and putting two / three part sequences together.
The cost of the sessions are £50.40 per terms.
Children can wear what they like although should be able to move freely in whatever they wear so loose, comfortable clothing is advisable and non-slip shoes are good.
